Exciting news: I’m transitioning from being a virtual assistant to being an Online Business Manager, or OBM! I completed the Certified OBM training program, created by Tina Forsyth and led by Sarah Noked, in the Spring 2020 cohort. In fact, I completed the International Association of Online Business Managers’ certification week July 20th through 24th, and we’ve been told to expect our exam results on August 18th. I’m thrilled to transition to offering OBM services, and I’m excited to have you here checking out what I can offer as an OBM on your team.
First, I want to take some time to explain what an OBM is.
An Online Business Manager is a person who steps into the role between the client (you) and the client’s team, at least when an OBM is working with a client on an ongoing (retainer) basis. The goal with OBM services is for the OBM to take over operations and team management, often including delegation, hiring, firing, systems and processes, and automations, so that the client is freed up to focus on growing the business and creating content.
Here’s a visual to help explain this in a different way:
In other scenarios, Online Business Managers can work with clients on a project basis, when a client’s business isn’t quite to the point where it’s realistic to have the OBM on the team on an ongoing basis. In this case, the Online Business Manager can step in to complete one-off projects like creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and systems, setting up automations, and so on.
Second, I want to clarify that I’m definitely still in transition.
We all know how insane 2020 has been — you don’t need me to tell you that. Aside from everything going on nationally and globally, I’ve also been very busy in my personal life (cross-country move, the OBM training program, etc.). I still need to fully update my website to reflect my transition from VA to OBM, so this page isn’t as lovely as it will be someday soon, but at least you can contact me to express interest in my OBM services. 🙂
I’d love to chat with you if you think you and your business have grown to the point where it makes sense to hire an OBM! Please fill out the form below, and I’ll be in touch with you within 48 business hours.
